New Perth office

Location

The Perth office was originally located at the corner of Alfred Road and Stubbs Terrace, where it was part of the Department of Transport and Storage Services Depot at Karrakatta from 1957 to 1976.

From November 1976 until today the purpose built facility has been at 384 Berwick Street, East Victoria Park. The building was extended in 1984–85.

The Perth office is six kilometres south-east of the Perth central business district.
In December 2000 the Perth office was the location for the shooting of scenes in the feature film Lets Get Skase starring Alex Dimitriades and Lachie Hulme.

The collection in Perth

Significant records include inwards passenger lists for Fremantle and other ports dating from 1898, World War I and World War II army and airforce pay records, CSIRO research papers, records and photographs of Christmas and Cocos Islands, and postal and telegraphic material.
